Tell us about your new project, Every Minute Matters, and what it means to you.
My favorite way to describe this new EP is as a love letter to my past. It’s full of love and nostalgia, both bittersweet and joyful songs. For me, the theme of time that runs through it is my way of appreciating where I’ve been and looking forward to where I’m going.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music, and when did you know?
I’ve always loved music, but I knew I wanted to perform the first time I sang in public, at a church musical when I was eight years old. It was the first time (for a very shy child!) that I felt comfortable being in front of people – the music just melted all my nerves away.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?
I’d do something involving storytelling since that’s what I love most about country music. Maybe something in editing or publishing books, as I do love literature.

What is your favorite downtime activity?
Reading! There’s nothing I love more than finding a comfy couch or a sunny park and just camping out with a good book for hours on end.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
Does Jane Austen count?

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?
The Texas Rangers!

What is the last movie that you watched?
EMMA. (Okay, now my Jane Austen obsession is showing.)

What is the last album you listened to?
Old Dominion‘s Happy Endings. The songwriting is brilliant, and it’s my favorite road trip singalong.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Right now, I might say The Walking in Between by Ben Rector. It has a song for absolutely everything!

What is the greatest country song of all time?
“Crazy” by Patsy Cline

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?
Austin, Texas

What is your favorite meal?
This changes week by week – right now, I love a good Pad Thai!

Who is your dream duet partner?
Reba McEntire!

Who would you like to go on tour with?
Maddie & Tae! They seem like they’d be so much fun.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?
Performing on stage at the Grand Ole Opry!
