Artist Name: Cody Purvis
Hometown: Charlottesville, VA

What project(s) are you currently working on? My management, producer and I just finished an extensive song searching process and have locked down the new songs that we are going into record this month. New music is coming!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know? I grew up with two parents who both performed in country music bands regionally in Virginia. Growing up in the honky-tonks watching them from the time I was born, I knew at a very early age that music was going to be my career choice.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living? Well, I have some bartending experience and love interacting with people, so I would probably stick with that, or possibly jump into the management/booking side of the industry.

What is your favorite downtime activity? I LOVE being out on the lake whether I’m fishing or just crushing Busch Lights with the boys.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush? Growing up it was always Carrie Underwood… but I’m not sure that I have one anymore.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)? Baseball: Baltimore Orioles NFL: Washington Redskins NCAA: University of Virginia and University of Tennessee Hockey: Nashville Predators (But I didn’t get into hockey until I moved to Nashville.)

What is the last movie that you watched? That’s tough, because I don’t watch a whole lot of movies. I’m more of a series type of guy. I have gotten super into Space Force. Steve Carell is a comical genius.

What is the last album you listened to? Front to back the last album that I listened to is HARDY‘s “HIXTAPE: Vol. 1”

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?  George Strait 50 Number Ones. I would never get bored.

What is the greatest country song of all time? I had this conversation the other day with some songwriter buddies of mine, and the list of songs that could be considered the greatest of all time is astonishing. I would have to say “He Stopped Loving Her Today” by George Jones or “Chiseled In Stone” by Vern Gosdin are two good options, but again, that could change depending on which day I am asked the question. Haha.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road? Savannah, GA is always on the top of the list. We have had some great times there and that city is so cool.

What is your favorite meal? Nashville Hot Chicken. Easy.

Who is your dream duet partner? If my father was still with us, I would have loved to have been able to do a father/son collab.

Who would you like to go on tour with? Eric Church. He’s such a badass. High Energy!

What is your ultimate career goal(s)? My goals are to keep getting better. I just want to keep doing what I love for as long as I can and get my music into as many ears as possible. I want to be able to travel, meet new people and play them my songs.
