  • Hometown:  Liverpool, England

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I have just finished an album called “Lost Estates” featuring Virginia Kettle, John Kettle and Neil McCartney of Merry Hell. The singles “Mothers Love” and “Trundle Trolley Blues” are taken from the album.

I am also half way through the third album. Which is going to be titled “Hoping for Purgatory”.  I’m going to sing it myself. It will be a far more organic sound but still be a range of stories about real people.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I was brought up in Liverpool so music is everywhere.  I lived on a road where you would hear Country and Western, Folk, Irish Rebel Music, punk and post punk and funk. I believe it would have been harder not to have been a musician than to be one.

I decided to start a band / musical project when I was 17. The first song I ever wrote was called “Summer Girl” which received positive reviews. I was hooked.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I am a trained nurse so probably Psychiatric nursing although I would have loved to have been a punk poet.

Spending time with my mates. They are my biggest fans and harshest critics. I’ve known them all my life. I also love exercise, art galleries and bizarre churches.
