  • Artist Name: Ken Francis Wenzel
  • Hometown: Champaign, IL ( I live in Arlington, VA now)

What project(s) are you currently working on?

Slowly writing my third Album. Hoping to put out at least two more singles in 2020, after “Healing Heart.”

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I was always restless, and the freedom and individuality that I saw in a career in music was a huge draw. I figured it out back in high school.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I’d probably be an airline pilot. That travel thing again.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Scuba diving.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Male: Probably Jason Isbell. Or Prince. Female: Either Brandi Carlile or Grace Potter. These are artistic crushes, of course. I don’t really care about movie stars.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Washington Capitals, Washington Nationals.

What is the last movie that you watched?

“Inside Man.” Denzel is indeed the man.

What is the last album you listened to?

Drive-By Truckers’ “The Big To-Do.”

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Oh jeez. I have no idea. That’s a long time for one rekkid.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Of course there’s way too many to list, but at the moment Waylon’s “Luckenbach, Texas (Basics Of Love)” comes to mind.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

These “favorites” questions! I don’t do them well. So many great towns. At the moment, I’m daydreaming of Breckenridge, CO.

What is your favorite meal?

Sushi. Italian on my birthday.

Who is your dream duet partner?

So many! Sting, Bonnie Raitt, Joni Mitchell, Chris Stapleton.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

I would have given anything to go on tour with Prince.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To find a way to keep putting out my music. The clock is ticking.
