Nashville-based musician Jacob Thomas Jr. will be independently releasing his debut album, Original Sin, on June 17th.  The 11-track album is a “solo acoustic project featuring honest storytelling about vices, temptation, and loss.”    The album features guest vocalist Lily Costner on the pair’s rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s “Go Your Own Way,” which can be streamed at SoundCloud.

Jacob is no stranger to the music scene. As Sonia Leigh’s bandleader and a multi-instrumentalist with Uncle Kracker, Jacob has performed alongside notable musicians such as Eric Church, Willie Nelson, and Loretta Lynn.

Originally from Lafayette, LA, Jacob draws from his storied past which includes time spent as a church pastor where he was eventually let go when he refused to stop performing his music in local bars. “I found more sense of community in bars than I did during my time in the church.  I’ve found that bars are more accepting, and in a bar you can be honest about the shit in your life.”  After being fired by the church, Jacob made the move to Nashville to pursue music as a career.  Overcoming divorce, time behind bars, and struggles with alcohol, Jacob notes that, “Music has been the only constant throughout my life.”

Original Sin will be released independently and available at all digital retailers June 17th.
