What project(s) are you currently working on?

Lots of ’em! My new If I Don’t Try EP releases on February 21st, so I’m excited about that. I’ve got more new music in the pipeline now, and we’re working hard in the studio when I’m not on the road. Did I mention I’m starting a podcast? It’s in the beginning stages, but expected to launch in late 2020. Stay tuned!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

My family has music backgrounds on both sides. My father is a musician, and my grandfather is a well-known piano tuner in Alabama. He’s blind, and I’m no 20/20 visionist, either. I was excited about music early on, but something pushed me towards pursuing it as a career after I found out I was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa like my grandfather. Music is something I can always count on, and I’m thankful for that.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I’d probably be working for my dad. He’s an accomplished attorney in my hometown of Montgomery, AL. Thankfully, he’s always encouraged me to chase my music dream.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Well… downtime to me is pretty much not being on tour. You can usually find me in pajama pants at my home in Nashville probably drinking too much tea and coffee while working on my laptop or writing a song. I’ll admit, I enjoy going to bars around Nashville when I can. Beer and live music make me happy.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Kacey Musgraves

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Alabama Crimson Tide

What is the last movie that you watched?

“Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”

What is the last album you listened to?

Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds: Live at Radio City

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Kaya (1979) by Bob Marley

What is the greatest country song of all time?

“You Never Even Called Me By My Name” by David Allan Coe. I mean, it says so right in the song!

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Hmm… it’s got to be Washington, D.C. However, I give an honorable mention to Louisville, Kentucky. That’s a hell of a town.

What is your favorite meal?

Hattie B’s Hot Chicken, of course.

Who is your dream duet partner?

Bruce Springsteen

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Drivin’ N Cryin’

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Tour internationally every year, host a podcast, record great music, squeeze in a family vacation or two. 😀
