You may remember Johnny Gates from The Voice – his new single “Wish I Knew You” was submitted to us for review, and we gave it a couple of spins to get a feel for it.  At times he sounds like Kip Moore, but something is missing from this one.  After filling out our score sheet, this song comes up as a 5.3, or an average country song.  It’s a decent tune, but not much of a “country” sound to it.
