Interview with Cody Tucker

Check out our interview with rising Texas country artist Cody Tucker.  Originally from Waco, TX, he now calls Austin, TX home!

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I’m currently finishing up the touches on my self-tilted debut EP coming out summer ‘2019. The record was recorded at Wonderland Studios in Austin, Tx and produced by legendary Texas producer Eric Mckinney.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I knew from a young age music was something special to me. My father always had a guitar in the house and I would try to play it here and there. Once I turned 13 my dad bought me my first guitar and then the rest is history. I will say I hoped or envisioned a music career sooner but Uncle Sam came calling and that put a kink in things for a brief time.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Dallas Cowboys

What is the last album you listened to?

Always changing albums. As of today Jon wolfe’s last record, Koe Wetzel’s new record and Upchurch’s album called creeker. Which for people who don’t know Upchurch is this country rapper out of TN but the album that I’ve really been turned onto is his Creeker album which is a rock record. The guy is all over the place.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

To many to list. Honestly I’ll play in front of any crowd. Give me the opportunity to prove myself and if that’s in front of a bunch of kids wearing Metallica shirts. Shoot, Lets gets western!

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Longevity. If I’m known for anything musically I wanna be known as the guy who likes to Honky-Tonk. Songwriters don’t send me ballads. I’m all about Beer drinking and hell raising.
