Rising country artist Karissa Ella has been garnering a lot of buzz lately, with appearances and features by many major publications and streaming outlets.  In support of her new music, we were able to ask her a few questions to help our readers get to know her.  Check out our interview with her below!

Artist Name: Karissa Ella

Hometown: North Canton, OH

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I just released my 6-song EP titled, “Blossom” on July 19th and I am so excited the world finally gets to hear it! It had been a crazy ride so far. My first single off my EP that I released back in May called, “Vacay” is now being played on Radio Disney Country and I feel like I am in a dream! I can’t wait to hear what fans think of my new music and hope to keep releasing more!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I have dreamed of being a country singer since I was a little girl. When I was looking at colleges I found Belmont University in Nashville TN and figured if I wanted to be a country singer, living in Nashville was the perfect place to do it! Since graduating in 2018, I have been pursuing my dreams full time and have loved every second of it! I also love being surrounded by so much talent in Nashville, it is so inspiring.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

If I was not singing I would be working with artists or in the entertainment industry in some way. Music is my life so I would love to be surrounded by it for the rest of my life.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

My favorite downtime activity is watching movies or having a family game night!

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

My biggest celebrity crush is currently KJ Apa from Riverdale and Tyler from the Bachelorette!

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

My favorite sports teams are anything Cleveland! Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns!!

What is the last movie that you watched?

The last movie I watched was Aladdin and it was SO good! I am a huge Disney fan!

What is the last album you listened to?

The last album I listened to was Runaway June’s “Blue Roses” album on repeat. I love those ladies!

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Wow, this is tough…but I am going to say Chris Stapleton’s album, “Traveller”

What is the greatest country song of all time?

The greatest country song of all time for me is either Shania Twain’s “Man I Feel Like A Woman” or Tim McGraw’s “Live Like You Were Dying”

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

There is nothing like playing in your hometown and having all that hometown support! I love Ohio and am thankful they always show up!

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite is when my dad makes a huge breakfast. I love breakfast food and sometimes eat breakfast for dinner. Weird right?!

Who is your dream duet partner?

It would be incredible to do a duet with Chris Stapleton or Zac Brown Band.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Honestly, it would be a dream to go on tour with anyone! But it would be cool to hit the road with one of my biggest idol’s Carrie Underwood.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

My career goals are to travel the world with my music and to create music that is relatable! I want fans to love my music and use it as a crutch to make their days better or to comfort them. Music is so powerful and I can only hope to make a difference and to touch people’s lives with it.

Outlaw country artist Gethen Jenkins just released his album Western Gold, which features his raucous new single “Basket Case.”  We had a chance to ask the former Marine a few questions, check ’em out below!

Artist Name:  Gethen Jenkins

Hometown: I lived in a small Indian village called Galena in Alaska form age 8 to 18

What project(s) are you currently working on?

“Current projects are writing music and getting out on the road spreading our songs to the world and album drop July 26 and getting on a National tour that’s what we’re working on.”

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I can’t say there was one second in my life that led me to believe that it was time for me to devote 125% of my life to having a music career. I think it’s kind of been a natural development over the years. I remember making a promise (to) my Marine buddy in Iraq that I was going to give it hell. It took me years to get to the point where I started writing music and putting a band together and playing gigs and developing a fan base. I do know that when I got sponsored by 805 Beer, that kind of solidified that my efforts I had been working so hard for the past years… busting our ass, writing songs, playing for no money, traveling, just trying to get the music out there, trying to get some recognition that we’re a band trying to do original music and trying to do it right. 805 Beer saw us and saw what we were doing was something different and they partnered up and that was a big deal for me. That was a good point. And then when I got picked up from my management company and they saw that I had something different that a lot of people don’t have, they saw growth potential and told me that I had something special that they wanted to help cultivate and develop into something worldwide. So those two points in my life were very important. And now, it’s full speed ahead!

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

“If I wasn’t playing music for a livin I’d probably be riding my motorcycle and I’d be a plus-size model for Harley Davidson and I’d be traveling the world.”

What is the last album you listened to?

David Allan Coe – Penitentiary Blues

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“If I could listen to any album for the rest of my life it would either be Jerry Reed Both Barrels or Merle Haggard Live at Billy Bob’s Texas.”

What is the greatest country song of all time?

“Greatest country song of all time I have no idea there’s too many good ones. My favorite country song is Lonesome On’ry and Mean Steve Young and Waylon Jennings.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

“My favorite city or town I’ve ever played at is probably Austin, Texas the Continental Club. Whole bunch of other ones, but that one’s a good one.

Who is your dream duet partner?

As far as duet I would say Emmylou Harris that would be my dream duet.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Willie Nelson

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Goals… open for Willy Nelson. Play the 4th of July picnic, play the Ryman Auditorium, mostly just spread our music all over the world. Appreciate y’all keep it in the wind.”
