Artist Name: Rae Marks
Hometown: Bethany, CT (living currently in West Palm Beach, FL)

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I’ve been doing a lot of writing and recording demos with my team, which is based in Florida and Nashville.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I’ve been singing since I can remember and writing since I was 10, so I always knew it was a part of me, which made the decision to pursue it an easy one.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I have a degree in Communications and Journalism and currently work as a TV news producer, so I am currently living my backup plan, as I pursue my ultimate dream! I am doing it kinda backwards than most artists, but I can’t complain. I am blessed to have a decent paying job that allows me to pursue my music and writing career. It really is a win win!

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Ordering takeout, having a glass of wine, snuggling on the couch with my husband and our two cats, watching The Office or catching up on DVR!

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Steve Carell! I love watching The Office. He is so entertaining!

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Yankees!  My husband took me to the original stadium for our first date and I knew he was the one for me 😉 The New York Rangers. I love hockey and  who doesn’t love a good hockey fight?!

What is the last movie that you watched?

Star Wars, I think? I am not a huge movie person. I have to really be in the mood. Otherwise I fall asleep!

What is the last album you listened to?

 Johnny Cash

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Wow, tough question! I guess I would go with Ryan Adams Gold album from 2001. I can listen to the entire album over and over again.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Guitars Cadillacs

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Nashville for sure! And I love the areas surrounding Nashville…like out in the country. It reminds me of home.

What is your favorite meal?

I am from New England, so I have to go with clam chowder, lobstah, corn on the cob and an ice cold beer!

Who is your dream duet partner?

 Luke Combs

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Miranda Lambert, Ashley Mcbryde, Tenille Townes, Eric Church, Luke Combs

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To work as a songwriter full time, get a publishing deal, and eventually work my way up to going out on the road as a recording artist!

  • Artist Name: Scott MacKay
  • Hometown: Charlottetown, PEI

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I’m currently in the process of working on a comical traditional country album that I’m hoping to release in the Spring of 2021.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I was a late bloomer. When I was in university, my buddy had mentioned that he was going to take guitar lessons and that inspired me to take them as well. I went through a period of learning and playing other people’s songs and then took a stab at writing my own. Once I got a taste of creating original material, I was hooked.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I don’t have to think too much about this one because aside from being a singer and songwriter, I’m also a junior high teacher.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Reading and listening to podcasts.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Natalie Portman.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

My dad always cheered for the Leafs, so I had no other choice but to cheer for them as well.

What is the last movie that you watched?

Marriage Story

What is the last album you listened to?

Ray Price – Night Life

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

At this moment I’d say Goon by Tobias Jesso Jr., but by tomorrow morning my mind may change.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

That’s a really tough one. There are so many great country songs for different reasons but if I had to choose one I’d probably say, “He Stopped Loving Her Today.”

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I enjoyed Medicine Hat, Alberta. It’s such a quaint and quiet spot with a wonderful arts community.

What is your favorite meal?

Macaroni and Cheese (although my stomach hates it).

Who is your dream duet partner?

Kacey Musgraves

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Brandy Clark

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Within the music world, getting a publishing deal as a songwriter would be the ultimate prize. To be able to be creative and write songs from 9-5 would be pretty great.
