Interview with Emily Daniels

Posted by at 11:28 am on March 14, 2020
Mar 142020

Artist Name: Emily Daniels
Hometown: Nashville, TN

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I’m releasing my first single on March 20th, so I’ve been getting ready for the release since late last year!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t singing, and growing up in Nashville, pursuing a career in country music just seemed like a normal career path to me. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized just how lucky I was to have grown up in that environment where it was encouraged.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I’d probably have gone to grad school to be a counselor. I was a psychology major and really love learning about people’s stories.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

I’m a little bit of a grandma, so I love to knit a blanket or cross stitch while watching TV so that I feel like I’ve been semi-productive while watching half a season of This Is Us.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

It’s probably a tie between Liam Hemsworth and Brett Eldredge

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

University of Alabama – ROLL TIDE 😊

What is the last movie that you watched?

The Taylor Swift Netflix documentary “Miss Americana”

What is the last album you listened to?

Kacey Musgraves’ “Golden Hour”

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Keith Urban’s “Golden Road”

What is the greatest country song of all time?

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Raitt. The emotions are just so real and honest and raw for anyone who’s ever felt the pain of loving someone who just doesn’t love you in return.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Gatlinburg because it’s the most charming, hospitable place and reminds me of childhood trips there!

What is your favorite meal?

Lasagna, good bread, and red wine. I’m a sucker for pretty much any pasta though!

Who is your dream duet partner?

Charles Kelley from Lady Antebellum!

Who would you like to go on tour with?

I’d love to go on tour with Lady Antebellum one day. I’ve always been a huge fan of them (those harmonies!!) and would love to learn anything and everything from them. They also just seem like such cool, down-to-earth people that I’d want to hang out with backstage.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

An ultimate career goal of mine is to sing at the Grand Ole Opry. I’ve0 dreamt of it since I was a little girl, and I’m working hard to make that dream a reality one day.
