Interview with Tommy Buller

Posted by at 4:03 pm on May 21, 2020
May 212020

Artist Name:  Tommy Buller
Hometown: Omaha, Nebraska

1. What project(s) are you currently working on?

We are currently working on a full bluegrass album for RBR, and I’m also working on a new traditional country album to release independently.

2. What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I grew up playing in my parents’ bluegrass band and I knew when I was 14 years old that I wanted to pursue a career in music.

3. If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

If I weren’t pursuing a career in music, I’d probably be doing some kind of work with horses.

4. What is your favorite downtime activity?

My favorite downtime activities are horseback riding and fishing.

5. Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

I’ve always loved Patty Loveless, especially her Bluegrass stuff.

6. Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

I don’t follow sports very much but I am a big fan of Nebraska football.

7. What is the last movie that you watched?

I’ve watched the movie Gremlins a thousand times, and it never gets old.

8. What is the last album you listened to?

Keith Whitley’s “I Wonder Do You Think of Me”

9. If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

George Jones’ I Am What I Am

10. What is the greatest country song of all time?

Anything by George Jones.

11. What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

My favorite place that I’ve been to on the road is probably Bayview, Texas.

12. What is your favorite meal?

I love Mexican food (2 tacos a day keeps the urge to run off the Texas away).

13. Who is your dream duet partner?

My dream duet partner would probably be Patty Loveless.

14. Who would you like to go on tour with?

I’d love to go on tour with Vince Gill or the Del McCoury band.

15. What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

I’d like to bring some tradition back to Bluegrass and country music.
