Interview with Ginnie Terry

  • Artist Name: Ginnie Terry
  • Hometown: Raised mostly in Bishop, CA but now living in my husband’s stomping grounds in Harrodsburg, KY

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I am currently working on the roll out of the first single “One Tear Too Many” from my debut album “Satisfied Me”

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I have been singing since I was big enough to crawl up onto a stage. My mom was married to a drummer and so I was up on stage at the local VFW at about 8 yrs old singing “Silver Wings” and “House of the Rising Sun”

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Once upon a time, I used to own a bookstore, I would love to do that again. As it stands now, I’m an over-the-road truck driver.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

When I have the opportunity to be home, I love reading and poking around antique stores.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Currently, my biggest celebrity crush would have to be Daniel Craig as 007.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

I was actually born in New Bedford, MA and so these teams were assigned to me at at that time: New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins

What is the last movie that you watched?

Well, the movie theaters have been closed for some time…but we have been binge watching a lot of “Justified” on HULU in the meantime.

What is the last album you listened to?

Miranda Lambert “The Weight of These Wings”

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

The original “Trio” album with Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Hands down, it’s George Jones, “He Stopped Loving Her Today”

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I have not, technically, been out on the road as a singer, but as I stated earlier, I’m a truck driver. Hubby and I drive all over the country and one thing we have noticed is that every state has its own kind of beauty, its own personality. (Sounds a bit like a country song, doesn’t it?)

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal is just a big ol’ barbecue with a bunch of friends and family sitting all over the yard with cold drinks and loud music.

Who is your dream duet partner?

Well, my husband, of course. But if he’s not available, I’d love a duet with Blake Shelton…or Vince Gill…or Brad Paisley…

Who would you like to go on tour with?

I think it would be a blast to go on tour with Eddie Montgomery. And since he just lives right up the road in the next county, it would be simple to swing the bus by here to pick me up.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

My ultimate career goal is just to enjoy what I’m doing and see what happens next. At this point in my life, I’m past the age of feeling pressure to be the next big thing. I feel like a cross between June Cleaver and Bette Midler. Serious when I need to be, but mostly a bit sassy and having a great time!!
