  • Artist Name: Calvin Lee
  • Hometown: Earle, AR, currently live in Nashville, TN

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I am working on the release and promotion of my latest single “My America“! Also been writing new music during the quarantine time.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I was about 12 years old and I would hear music all the time at church. I loved singing at church and at the house. I would work out in the field with my mom and she would always be singing. That gave me the drive to pursue music. I’m a big Elvis fan and his music inspired me from a young age.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I love to cook and would probably pursue a career as a chef! Chili is one of my favorite dishes to make, I would definitely do some down home cooking.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

I love working out in my free time and watching old western movies.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

I like them all! I would say it would be Miranda Lambert.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Dallas Cowboys!

What is the last movie that you watched?

The new Jumanji movie with The Rock and Kevin Hart!

What is the last album you listened to?

Chris Stapleton’s album! Can’t wait for his new one

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

George Strait’s 50 Number Ones album.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Hello Darlin’ by George Jones

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Las Vegas, NV. I use to perform quite a bit at Excalibur on the strip.

What is your favorite meal?

My favorite meal is salmon and broccoli. Simple but delicious.

Who is your dream duet partner?

I would love to do a song with Miranda Lambert!

Who would you like to go on tour with?

If George Strait was still touring, it would be him. As far as current artists, I would pick Chris Stapleton.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Make a living writing and performing music. It’s my true passion and I love every second I get to spend playing music.

Interview with Cameron Hawthorn

Artist Name: Cameron Hawthorn
Hometown: Andover, Kansas

What project(s) are you currently working on?

“To Break Hers” is a song I just released and my EP is right around the corner.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I learned piano from a young age and started getting into songwriting in high school. I grew up doing lots of musical theater and went to college to study acting for film and television. I love acting, but it wasn’t my true passion. When I figured out I wanted to pursue music in some way, I got an internship at Warner Brothers Records in LA and started learning about the business. I’ll never forget one of the assistants told me: “If you want to be an artist, go be an artist. Don’t work here or people will never take you seriously.” That was the start of my artist career.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Filmmaking, acting, or possibly something in creative marketing and branding.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

I love discovering new coffee shops and catching up with my friends over coffee

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

My celebrity crush has got to be Jake Gyllenhaal.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

I’m not the biggest sports guy, but I always root for my alma mater, the USC Trojans.

What is the last movie that you watched?

The Fox & The Hound (thanks, Disney+)

What is the last album you listened to?

 “Monovision” – Ray LaMontagne

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

“Come On Over” – Shania Twain

What is the greatest country song of all time?

“Ring of Fire” – Johnny Cash

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Austin, Texas. It’s such a beautiful city with so much to explore.

What is your favorite meal?

Sushi is my absolute favorite.

Who is your dream duet partner?

Kacey Musgraves, because she’s been such an inspiration to me with not only her songwriting but also with who she is as a person.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Kacey Musgraves – obviously 😉

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To collaborate with some of country music’s greats, have a #1 song, play the ACMs & Grammys.
