  • Artist Name: Matt Horan
  • Hometown: Davie, Florida

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I am currently promoting my new solo album “Tears From The Mountain” pure country roots and will be on tour in the Fall in the USA and Europe.  I am also about to get into the studio to record a full band country album called Matt Horan & his Country Band.  You can get a sneak peak on youtube with a couple live performances filmed at Sky Sessions in Spain.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I knew I wanted to be a music performer since I was 8 years old and I started to love country music a year or two later when I first heard Hank Williams, “I’m So Lonesome I could Cry” and knew I wanted to sing just like that.  I’ve been making music and playing in bands since the age of 13 in various types of genres, but I started my professional career at the age of 30 when I started Dead Bronco in 2011 and toured the US and Europe for the past 8 years.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I’d try to be a pro surfer or a professional surf bum living in my van.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

I love to surf. I live for the ocean and I basically enjoy anything that has to do with it like fishing, diving, boating, etc.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

 Scarlett Johansson

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

 The Canes!

What is the last movie that you watched?

Rewatched Gangs of New York on a flight the other day. Great movie.

What is the last album you listened to?

Hazel Dickens & Alice Gerrard “Pioneering Women of Bluegrass”. I love that old sound.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Can’t go wrong with Hank Williams greatest hits

What is the greatest country song of all time?

That is a very difficult question and there’s so many to choose from. I think I’d go with George Jones “Seasons of My Heart”.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I really enjoy playing New Orleans and Budapest is amazing as well.

What is your favorite meal?

Breakfast… pancakes, bacon, eggs, hash browns and a lot of coffee.

Who is your dream duet partner?

It’d be cool to do something with Tatiana Hargreaves of Wayne Hancock.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

I’d love to tour with Wayne Hancock

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To get as far as I can while staying true to myself with my music and to better my economic situation so my family can live more comfortably.
