What project(s) are you currently working on?

My next album entitled “Memento Mori”

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

The prospect of traveling the country and connecting with many different types of people through music I knew I wanted to do this the second I finished writing my first real song

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Writer. Actress. Director. Something in the performing arts that involves creating and telling stories.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Sunbathing while listening to something on audible or a podcast, ideally near some kind of body of water

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Jack White or Taylor Swift

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

The Atlanta Braves

What is the last movie that you watched?

The Virgin Suicides

What is the last album you listened to?

Room For Squares, by John Mayer. It’s a very nostalgic album for me.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Tom Petty’s Greatest Hits or Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits  and if those don’t count b/c they’re compilations… probably Gold, by Ryan Adams

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Since 7 is the number of completeness, and I’m incredibly indecisive, so had to add on another song after that first seven… I’m going to have to say…: Crazy. You Never Even Called Me By My Name. Jolene. Long Black Veil. Song of The South. Your Cheatin Heart. Sunday Morning Coming Down. Fancy.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Edinburgh, Dublin, London, and Bath
its hard to choose…

What is your favorite meal?

a low country boil (ideally involving both crab and shrimp)

Who is your dream duet partner?

Taylor Swift for a lady, Bob Dylan for a man

Aug 262022

Artist Name:  Jason Callear
Hometown: Uttoxeter Staffordshire England. UK

What project(s) are you currently working on?

2 new single releases currently, ‘Brother’ & ‘Fortunate Sons’ plus rebranding and preparing for a new album ‘Train Rolls On’.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

As young as I can recall, playing old records, many different genres, school plays and learning guitar in 1978 aged 6.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Actually I’m an Engineer professionally but in a roundabout way it funds my passion for writing, recording and performing. I live in hope for some recognition for my creation.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Apart from music, tinkering with or drive outs in old cars and machinery from yesteryear. I love all things Retro.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Ooh. Don’t think I have one really, as a kid though, The Princess of Wales. 😬

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Team GB. Adam Peaty, Olympic gold medalist in Swimming is from my home town.

What is the last movie that you watched?

Bohemian Rhapsody

What is the last album you listened to?

Gov’t Mule

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Queen II only because it’s the first album I played and it brings back so many great memories.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Wichita Lineman 1968

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

So many but the stand out was a show at The Whiskey a Go Go on Sunset Strip!

What is your favorite meal?

Anything hot and spicy with plenty of texture

Who is your dream duet partner?

Mmm, tricky. So many really but sadly most of them have passed.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Probably Chris Stapleton as I think our fusion of influence is similar and we’re both from Staffordshire, albeit different ones. 😊

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Like any song writer I’d like at least one decent success, I’d like to think many of my tunes have cinematic potential, it would be a dream come true to have something playing out in an opening sequence!
