Artist Name: Bailey Taylor
Hometown: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I am currently getting ready to release my debut Christmas album called Christmas Love on November 25th. It’s been in the works for a couple years now and we finally sat down this year and made it happen. We wrote seven original songs and covered three classics. As for non-Christmas projects, I’m working on my debut Country-Pop EP, which is aimed to be released in the Spring of 2023.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I’ve grown up in a musical family. My uncle, B.E. Taylor, mainly known for his 20 year Christmas tour, has inspired me since I was a little girl. I had the honor of watching him perform time and time again and even was a part of his tour as I got older. Watching him interact on stage with his fans and the way he wrote his original songs, I knew I wanted to be just like him when I grew up. He passed away in 2016 and the last thing I said to him was “I’m going to follow in your footsteps and make you proud,” and ever since that day, I’ve been aiming to do just that.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I would probably be doing something with kids. Whether that be a pediatrician or an elementary school teacher, I would just want to be dealing with kids and interacting with them.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

I love going to work out at a gym, being outside on a walk or hike, or simply just relaxing watching tv or listening to a podcast.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

I crush big time on the Salvatore brothers in the TV show The Vampire Diaries so I’d say Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley or Riley Green.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

The Pittsburgh Steelers! I love football season so much. Sundays are my favorite when football is on.

What is the last movie that you watched?

Probably something Hallmark. I’m a BIG Hallmark Christmas girl, ask anyone who knows me.

What is the last album you listened to?

Kelsea Ballerini’s album, Subject To Change. She is one of my favorite artists, and I can relate so much to anything she releases.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Probably RED by Taylor Swift. That album has so many jams and heartbreaks all in one, I love it.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

This is so hard!!! There are so many good ones, but two that I think are timeless are “Friends In Low Places” by Garth Brooks and “Live Like You Were Dying” by Tim McGraw.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I haven’t toured too much yet, so I don’t have many places that I’ve traveled to for shows. I’m hoping to do a tour in 2023/2024!

What is your favorite meal?

My mom’s Spaghetti, with salad and garlic bread!! Mmm mm mm.

Who is your dream duet partner?

This is a tough one, I have so many dream collabs. For girls, I would say Kelsea Ballerini or Carrie Underwood. For guys I would say Dan & Shay or Gary Levox. They are all artists I have loved for a long time and they’ve been really big inspirations to my career in different ways.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Carrie Underwood – I have always admired how classy she carries herself as a person and how she shares her talent and creativeness through her artistry. She has always been known to support upcoming artists and that’s something, as an independent upcoming artist, I truly love about her.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

Throughout my career, I’ve made a list of big and small goals I want to accomplish.

A few of the small ones include writing a song by myself once a week, making a few TikToks everyday and posting consistently, and practicing guitar for 30 minutes everyday. A few of the big goals I want to achieve is to have my first big writers cut with a bigger artist, sign a publishing deal, be an opener for a major headlining tour, and sign a record label deal. I know these are all achievable, but only time will tell!

Interview with Gareth Lewis

Posted by at 7:55 pm on November 15, 2022
Nov 152022

Artist Name: Gareth Lewis
Hometown: live in Llanelli, originally from Swansea.

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I recorded a new EP earlier this year, and I’m about to release a 3rd single from that called ‘Things you love the most.’ The EP will be released in full in early 2023 and contains 5 tracks in total. I have songs ready for another EP which I’ll start recording very soon.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

It’s always been my passion since I was young, I was a guitarist in bands for many years, but it wasn’t until I discovered my voice as a writer that I began pursuing it as a career. My songs are mainly about the human condition and the things we find it hardest to talk about. Music has been a real outlet for expressing my emotions, and knowing that other people connect with and take comfort from my songs is what drives me.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Well I’ve managed to have a career alongside music for a long time… I work part time for Mind, mental health charity, so if I wasn’t working in music, I’d probably be working full time in that sector. Mental health and raising awareness of the issues and encouraging people to talk about their feelings is another passion.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Spending time with my family, watching movies, listening to music, and watching Swansea City play! Movies in particular have had a big influence on my songwriting, and I’ve enjoyed introducing my son to classic 80s movies.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Holly Willoughby

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Swansea City

What is the last movie that you watched?

The Lost King

What is the last album you listened to?

Dawes – Misadventures of Doomscroller

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Appetite for Destruction – Guns N Roses

What is the greatest country song of all time?

I’m a big fan of classic country so probably Always on my mind, Willie Nelson..

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

Portofino, Italy was the most beautiful, but I’m a big fan of the city of Liverpool and got to play at the Cavern Club which was definitely a box ticked!

What is your favorite meal?

Steak, chips and peppercorn sauce.

Who is your dream duet partner?

Sheryl Crow

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Jason Isbell / Guns N Roses

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To have a body of work that I’m proud of and no regrets
