Artist Name:  Abbie Bell & The High Ryes
Hometown:  Edinburgh, Midlothian

What project(s) are you currently working on?

Right now my band and I are getting ready to release our second single Take it Off which will be released May 29th and we are fine-tuning our set list, making sure it is enjoyable and a show! We have a couple of stand-out tracks that once finished we will be taking to the studio next!

What inspired you to pursue a music career and when did you know?

I have been songwriting and composing my own music since I was 13. Then one day in my early twenties I was on a bus and like a switch I decided it was now or never and made the choice to release my own music. I began a release plan that night. I didn’t excel in many other subjects in school and it was always just a feeling like my intuition telling me that music in particular songwriting is what I am meant to do. I have always loved music and grew up around people who also loved music, supported me and helped nurture my creativity.

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Music is currently not my main career. Like many musicians/creatives it can be hard to make a living but I have been fortunate that I stumbled into tourism which has led to a career in business development and marketing which I also love.

What is your favourite downtime activity?

Playing PlayStation.

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

Never really had one.

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Chicago Bears, NFL and of course any Scottish sports team.

What is the last movie that you watched?

Blades of Glory

What is the last album you listened to?

Genesis – abacab

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Rumours – Fleetwoodmac!

What is the greatest country song of all time?

There are many amazing country songs both from the classic and modern era but for me if I had to pick one it’s Jolene – Dolly Parton

What has been your favourite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I have not yet been out in the road in regards to touring but hopefully one day! Been very fortunate to play many shows around Scotland.

What is your favorite meal?

Tacos

Who is your dream duet partner?

Stevie Nicks!

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Miley Cyrus, Kelsea Ballerini, Cam.

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To be fulfilled and happy. I want to love what I am doing. I want my family to be happy and my goal is to provide and share amazing memories without barriers. The band and I would love and it is absolutely a goal of ours to play festivals and take our songs on a tour but ultimately the goal is to be happy and enjoy the journey.

Kimberly Perry Announces New EP, New Single

This Friday, GRAMMY Award-winning singer-songwriter Kimberly Perry returns to her songwriting roots with a sequel to a familiar story – “If I Die Young Pt. 2” – available via RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records. A matured interpolation of one of country music’s biggest hits, “If I Die Young Pt. 2” is her first single release as a solo artist, and will be featured on her forthcoming BLOOM EP – due for release June 9.

Pre-save “If I Die Young Pt. 2” HERE.

Pre-save BLOOM EP HERE.

Building on the beloved original storytelling, “If I Die Young Pt. 2” finds Perry in an introspective sweet disposition, as it juxtaposes the wide-eyed, somber gaze of her younger self. The song features new verses and a sound filled with soft-focus nostalgia.

On the inspiration behind “If I Die Young Pt. 2,” Perry explains, “I felt like the story wasn’t finished. There needed to be a sequel that talked about where my head is these days now that I’ve experienced so much life – I’m having a baby, I’m married, I’ve moved to Nashville; I’ve seen all of these dreams come true since writing the original version.

Produced by Jimmy Robbins, BLOOM paints the picture of an honest woman who has experienced all life’s highs and lows and finally found her own voice. With a natural knack for story-telling, Perry penned the entire record herself, alongside other hit songwriters including Jimmy Robbins, Nicolle Galyon, Jesse Frasure, Sasha Sloan, Casey Brown, and Parker Welling. See below for the full tracklist.

“BLOOM is a record I’ve been dreaming of making since I was a kid,” Perry states. “It’s been a really rewarding experience to think in a highly feminine way. It’s really pulled together all of the threads of what I’ve always been drawn to musically and lyrically.”

Most recently, Perry signed to RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records as a solo country artist. She also signed a global publishing deal with Warner Chappell Music and Songs & Daughters Publishing. Perry is set to make her solo artist debut at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry this weekend on Saturday, May 6 – tickets are available HERE. She will also light up The Chevy Vibes Stage at CMA Fest on Sunday, June 11.

Since 2005, Kimberly Perry has captivated audiences with her showstopping vocals, lyrical eloquence, and superstar presence. She co-founded The Band Perry with her brothers and shined on the platinum-certified The Band Perry [2010] and gold-selling Pioneer [2013]—which catapulted to #2 on the Billboard 200 and #1 on the Top Country Albums Chart. The group served up massive anthems such as the 9x-platinum Hot 100 hit “If I Die Young,” double-platinum “Better Dig Two,” and platinum “You Lie,” “All Your Life,” and “Done,” and gold “Postcard From Paris” and “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely.” Among many accolades, the trio earned a GRAMMY® Award in the category of “Best Country Duo/Group Performance.” Not to mention, they sold out shows everywhere.

With over a decade of experience under her belt, Kimberly Perry is back to doing what she does best: sharing her stories with the world through music. Spring is in full BLOOM – and so is Kimberly Perry’s next chapter.
