Interview with Ben Hutcheson

  • Artist Name:  Ben Hutcheson
  • Hometown: Portishead, Bristol, England

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I currently have a few singles that i am working on promoting and releasing such as Living For the Weekend!

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I think I’ve always known, it was just one of those things from a really young age where you can’t really see yourself doing anything else! I decided to pursue it from about 13 when I got my first guitar!

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I would have to say something like teaching! I’m a big fan of learning and trying to make an impact in others lives.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

I’m a big gamer! I also love a bit of socialising and seeing friends as I find that most of your best experiences happen around the people you love!

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

I’m not massively one for celebrity crushes but I would have to say either Tyla or Jenna Ortega. But it’s hard to argue with Ryan Reynolds…

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

Bristol City!

What is the last movie that you watched?

A rewatch of Bohemian Rhapsody! Stunning film!

What is the last album you listened to?

F-1 Trillion by Post Malone, he’s got a real talent for anything musical but this latest Country album is absolutely brilliant.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I always find these questions way too hard to answer because my music taste is so varied, I go through stages of listening to different styles and genres so I simply don’t know if I could name just one album! (I’m sorry if that’s a rubbish answer!)

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Again, this is such a hard question to answer that my mind goes back to classics that everyone knows, such as John Denver’s Country Roads, The Gambler by Kenny Rogers, Dolly’s Jolene or even Friends in Low Places by Garth Brooks.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I’ve been all over with my music, especially around the UK but truthfully, Nashville had a special place in my heart, Music all hours of the day on every floor of every bar. You couldn’t ask for more.

What is your favorite meal?

I’m a big steak guy! But if that’s off the menu then you can’t go wrong with a simple carbonara!

Who is your dream duet partner?

I would love one day to collaborate with either Luke Combs or Scotty McCreery but truthfully I love collaborating with people in general because everyone can bring their own twist to a writing session that can make that session unique and brilliant in its own way!

Who would you like to go on tour with?

I’d love to join Scotty or Luke on tour like before but with those out on tour now, I’d love the chance to join either Drake Milligan or Post Malone on their tours!

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To make music that I love and to hopefully resonate with an audience who feels the same. I would love to make my full living from it and really live the life I know is meant for me!
