Hometown: I am originally from Grafton, West Virginia, but I built my career in Nashville, Tennessee over the last 20 years
What project(s) are you currently working on?
I’m currently focused on releasing my latest single, Softer Side, which blends country, indie rock, and Brazilian influences. We’re also pushing the accompanying music video; an entire marketing campaign will promote the track. Beyond that, I’m working on more original material and exciting collaborations with other artists in the U.S. and Brazil.
What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?
Music was a constant part of my life growing up, especially with my dad playing and having a band. Watching him play and having such diverse tastes in music made me love everything from country to Motown. But it wasn’t until I moved to Nashville and started playing honky-tonks that I realized music wasn’t just something I loved—it was what I wanted to do. Seeing the way people connected with the songs and the energy of live performances made me understand that this was my path. That moment of connection is when I knew I had to pursue it full-time.
If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?
I’ve always been interested in business, so I’d be involved in artist development or running a music management company. I enjoy helping other musicians find their path. I also enjoy sleeping, so if there was a way to make money doing that, I would try that out.
What is your favorite downtime activity?
I love to travel and explore new places in my downtime, especially when I can hit a casino and try my luck at the slots. There’s something about the energy and excitement of playing that I enjoy until I run out of money, and then I’m not so much excited but depressed. On top of that, I’m a huge fan of playing games by Tom Clancy—they’re a perfect way to unwind and get lost in some strategic gameplay. Whether it’s a road trip or diving into a good game, I’m all about finding ways to relax and have fun when I’m off the stage.
Who is your biggest celebrity crush?
That’s a tough one! But if I had to pick, probably Jennifer Lawrance—she’s got that down-to-earth charm, and I can’t stop staring at her, of course, unless my girlfriend is in the room (in case she would read this).
Who is your favorite sports team(s)?
Being from West Virginia, I’ve got to root for the West Virginia Mountaineers! I am also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and try to stay a Pirates fan. As far as Nashville, I like going out and supporting the Preds Hockey team!
What is the last movie that you watched?
Deadpool and Wolverine. I love Ryan Reynolds’s sense of humor to the point that his movies are never long enough. That being said, it took me years to separate him from Dane Cook in my mind.
What is the last album you listened to?
I just revisited Billy Joel’s The Stranger. It’s a timeless classic, and the songwriting never gets old. Also, Counting Crows August and everything after.
If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Truthfully, I would say Sting’s “Ten Summoners Tales.” It has so many different styles of sounds that you could have more options to keep from shooting yourself for only having one record.
What is the greatest country song of all time?
For me, it’s Willie Nelson’s Always on My Mind. The lyrics are raw, the melody is unforgettable, and it hits you every time you listen to it.
What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?
In the US, I always have the best time in San Diego. Besides all the friends we have made there over the years, the place is always fun to explore. In Brazil, my favorite city has really become Sorocaba. If you have never been, it is a great city to visit if you visit Sao Paulo State.
What is your favorite meal?
For me, American Waygu and Crab Fried Rice from Eddy V’s is off the chart and something to dream about. In Nashville, it is getting harder to pick just one because it has really become such a foodie town.
Who is your dream duet partner?
Honestly, Citizen Cope. I say that because his music is so catchy and lyrics just as much, but our voices are so different that I feel it would be an interesting combination.
Who would you like to go on tour with?
Musically, I would say Darius Rucker. Because he had success in two different genres, his fans would be more open to my music, which is a bit of a mixed bag. Just for the sheer fun of it, I would have to say, Blake Shelton.
What is your ultimate career goal(s)?
I want to keep growing as a performer and songwriter, pushing the boundaries of genre while connecting with a global audience. I’d love to build a legacy not just for myself but also to help develop other artists and expand my private and corporate event business.
