Nicola at age 6!

Artist Name: Nicola Harris
Hometown:  Newark-on-Trent Nottinghamshire UK

What project(s) are you currently working on?

I’ve just written a brand new quirky song entitled ‘Toby Keith’ and recorded the vocals this week in London with Tim Prottey Jones and he also produced the track. I’m also in the process of organising a venue to perform my songs for the first time with a live band. So rehearsals are underway.

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

My love of music happened at a very young age. My mum sang and my brother played drums in the school band. When I was aged 6 my mother and I were waiting for my brother to finish his band rehearsal when one of the girl singers in the band said she couldn’t sing in the show at the weekend. The teacher asked if anyone else knew the song, nobody put their hand up so I did. My mum tried to make me put my hand down, but the teacher had already clocked me and humoured me by offering the mic. I took that mic and sang my little heart out. I was in the school band heeee!

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

I would probably have my own stage school teaching dance or I’d be a dance choreographer. Dancing is my biggest passion.

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Watching a great film 🍿 I’m a film aholic

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

It’s always been Colin Firth ♥️ Girl Crush Sharleen Spiteri from Texas in the 90’s

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

I don’t have one, I love boxing and martial arts. I achieved my black belt in karate when I was 11, back then I was the youngest person in the UK to achieve a black belt so young.

What is the last movie that you watched?

A 2022 Netflix movie 🎥 called ‘Lou’ A young girl is kidnapped during a powerful storm.

What is the last album you listened to?

Let It Roll by Midland

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Can I not just make my own Spotify playlist and take that with me lol 😂 mmmmm…. ‘Tuskegee’ by Lionel Richie.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

I could never have just one as it depends what mood I’m in.

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

I have visited many places all over the world but my heart belongs to my home city of Nottingham, I am such a home bird. I hate to be cliche but I visited Nashville once and it’s the only place I felt was close to home, I don’t know if that was the music or that the people were so friendly and down to earth.

What is your favorite meal?

A plate full of chocolate heeee!!! Great Sunday dinner.

Who is your dream duet partner?

Chris Young

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Chris Young or Keith Urban

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

To have at least one of my songs recognised, I wasn’t blessed with children. I want to leave something behind.
