What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I participated in open Mics and it was well received, got my first gig and its taken off from there!

I am still doing my usual day job which is Mining and tunneling

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Riding my motorcycle!

Gal Gadot My partner and I at Christmas actually made a list of our top five!

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

It would have to be the Ireland Rugby Team!

What is the last movie that you watched? 

Anchor Man! And that is a scientific fact!

What is the last album you listened to? 

Bryan Martin, Self Inflicted Scars, an incredible album from an incredible artists

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be? 

That’s a tough one, but probably American IV, The Man Comes Around by Johnny Cash

What is the greatest country song of all time? 

“Ghost Riders In The Sky”, The Highwaymen

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road? 

It will have to be London for me at the moment, but I’m yet to experience venues further afield

What is your favorite meal? 

Steak and Chips, with green Veg and mushrooms

Ashley McBride, what an incredible voice and song writer!

Who would you like to go on tour with?

Cody Jinks, I think he’s brutally honest and also a Veteran which resonates with me

What is your ultimate career goal(s)? 

Playing the Bridgestone arena in Nashville!

We finished our album SLOWBURNBABY which will be released in June and are now also working on an EP entitled Constant Motion for release in the Fall

What inspired you to pursue a career in music and when did you know?

I’ve been singing since I was 4- I’ve never really known anything else!

If you weren’t pursuing a career in music, what would you be doing for a living?

Something music adjacent like teaching guitar or music therapy

What is your favorite downtime activity?

Meditating and writing!

Who is your biggest celebrity crush?

I’m pretty obsessed with Harry Styles – I just think he’s fab

Who is your favorite sports team(s)?

I honestly don’t watch sports too much!! I like going to see local teams wherever we are – the smaller local games are always fun.

What is the last movie that you watched?

In my apartment we always watch The Princess Diaries, it’s our comfort movie.

What is the last album you listened to?

Kelsea Ballerini’s “Rolling Up The Welcome Mat” EP came out yesterday and I listened 3 times through – really her best work as a writer, brilliant.

If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Taylor Swift’s Evermore is a pretty much a perfect album.

What is the greatest country song of all time?

Probably something by the queen Dolly Parton – Jolene or I Will Always Love You

What has been your favorite city/town that you’ve visited out on the road?

When I worked on ships we got to play really crazy places – I liked Fiji, Ibiza and Amsterdam the most!

What is your favorite meal?

I love Indian food – spicy South Indian garlic chicken and paneer

Who is your dream duet partner?

I’d love to be on a track by the Highwomen – singing with Brandi Carlile would be a dream come true.

Who would you like to go on tour with?

I’d love to open for Maren Morris or Lainey Wilson – I think I could fit into their show/style quite well

What is your ultimate career goal(s)?

I just want to make a living making music – and I’ve been able to do that for almost 10 years now so everything else is just icing on the cake

• The 2020 CMT Awards kicked off with a full-band performance by Luke Combs performing a future smash hit called “One Too Many” with special guests Brooks & Dunn, who came out mid-song!  Kix handed Luke a beer that he quickly shotgunned.  Solid start.
• Kane Brown, one of the co-hosts of the show, welcomed the audience to the program.  He then introduced co-host Sarah Hyland of Modern Family fame.  She then kicked it over to the other co-host, Ashley McBryde.  They then took turns laying out some of the who and what will be happening tonight.
• Sam Hunt performed next, playing his 7th career #1 hit, “Hard to Forget” – he sure wasn’t convincing with his “guitar playing”
