Johnny Cash “Forever” Stamp Coming This June

This June, country music fans will be able to adorn their mail with a limited-edition Johnny Cash stamp thanks to the U.S. Postal Service and Cash family. The “Forever” stamp, set to be unveiled on Wednesday, June 5, at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, is in commemoration to the life and music of John R. “Johnny” Cash.

The ceremony will feature a series of appearances from Cash’s friends and family including John Carter Cash, Carlene Carter, and other guests to be announced. Admission is open to the public and free of charge.

About the Design

The stamp was designed by Neal Ashby, three-time Grammy nominee for Best Recording Packaging, and art director Greg Breeding. Displayed on the stamp is a photograph taken by Frank Bez during the photo session for Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny CashThe Forever stamp is part of the Postal Service’s Music Icon Series, which also features stamps celebrating Lydia Mendoza and Ray Charles.  To purchase one, fans can visit the Ryman Auditorium on June 5 from 9 a.m. until noon, at the CMA Festival Fan Fair X at LP Field June 6-9, local post offices and online at usps.com/stamps.
