I caught up with Sarah Darling for a couple of minutes after she got done signing autographs for a long line of fans at the CMA Fest Fan Fair X.  Check out what she had to say!

Q:  Your new single, “Little Umbrellas” hits radio on June 24th.  What’s the feedback been so far from radio?

A:  Honestly, as far as radio is concerned, everybody loves it.  I feel like everyone wants to play it.  It’s interesting, because it’s probably been the most reaction song I’ve ever released, which is really really cool.  This is the first song I’ve ever put out on my own, and so I’m really excited about that fact, everybody is so excited, and it’s something I wrote!

Q:  How’s it been touring with Scotty McCreery and playing in front of those huge crowds?

A:  Absolutely incredible!  I mean, we’ve played some of the most beautiful venues across America.  His fan base is incredible.  They’re young, and it’s absolutely so much fun.

Q:  Do you remember the first time you heard yourself on the radio?

A:  It was in California.  I knew that I was going to be played and I ran out to the car to hear it.  It never changes, my reaction never changes!

Q:  What’s the #1 item on your bucket list?

A:  Oooooh.  It used to be going to Paris, and I did that.  So…I think I would like to go to Hawaii.  I’m a big travel person, so I’d love to go travel around.

Q:  What’s your favorite downtime activity besides baking?

A:  Oooh, besides baking?  I like being outdoors, I like going out and doing like jogging, believe it or not I like fishing.

Q:  Do you like camping?

A:  I don’t know if I’d consider myself a camper.  I would be more like a glamper.  A glamorous camper!

Q:  Any passions in life?

A:  You know what?  I”m very much into fashion, um…dresses, cooking…

Q:  What advice would you give to aspiring artists?

A:  I would say enjoy the journey and be patient and persevere.  It’s not a sprint, you know?  Stay in there, be patient, it’s one step at a time.  And don’t ever forget why you do it.  Because you love it!
