1. Where were you when you first heard yourself on the radio, and what was your reaction?  I was at my job! I knew that it was going to be played at a certain time, so I made sure to tune in! It was such an amazing feeling! I teared up. It was something I had dreamed of for my whole life. To finally hear myself on the radio was almost overwhelming!

2. What is the #1 item on your Bucket List? To headline a major tour!!!! 😀 That would be #1! haha! But I would be happy with an opening act!!

3. What is something that you are extremely passionate about?  Well music is obviously #1. I put my heart and soul into it every day. With writing, singing, recording, whatever! I think music is such a powerful thing. It connects with everyone, no matter who you are or where you’re from..you can’t deny that music has had an effect on you. I think more attention needs to be paid on music programs in schools. Or even to have more access to music activities for kids. It gives them something to do, and to be passionate about. Gives them a sense of purpose. So I would love to be able to help in that in any way I could! 🙂

4. If you could only listen to one album for the rest of your life, what would it be? It would be “The Essential Journey” Which is basically Journey’s greatest hits! I can’t ever grow tired of them and their songs! Those piano ballads get me every time. And who doesn’t love “Don’t Stop Believin’?” which has been my favourite song for years! 🙂

5. If music wasn’t your career, what would you be doing for a living? I work with the elderly right now, and would probably still be doing that if I wasn’t doing music. I run activities for them, which i find fun and rewarding. 🙂

6. What would your final meal be if you knew it was your last one? If it was my last one I would probably just opt for a huge buffet from the Mandarin, and eat a bit of everything!

7. What is your favorite sports team(s)? I’m not a big sports watcher, but I do like hockey and cheer for the Toronto Maple Leafs! I hope I live to see the day they take the cup home. (not many of us HAVE seen that!)

8. What’s been your favorite city/town to visit? Nashville! It’s music central!!! I went there about 10 years ago just for a visit, and was amazed at all the music there! I’m currently planning a trip to go down in April and couldn’t be more excited!!!

9. What are your thoughts on the state of today’s country music? I think country music is confused right now. It doesn’t know what it is anymore! HAHA! You get artists with that more traditional sound, mixed with artists that sound like a rock band, mixed with some rap, and some pop. It’s like every genre mixed into one, and there’s country music! My thoughts on it are, it’s nice to have the variety, I just hope we don’t lose the genre completely. It would be nice to know when you are listening to a country song, other than the fact that it’s on a country station. (which can be hard to tell these days)

10. What’s the best advice you could give to an aspiring artist? Work, and work hard! And don’t stop! If things aren’t happening for you, you aren’t working hard enough! It’s a tough business to break through so you have to be persistent. It can also get pricey so watch who you are handing your money to and make sure it’s worth your while. And make sure you know your stuff! Get out there and play as much as you can, even if it’s just at a little coffee shop, or local pub. Play as much as you can to really hone your craft. I got a regular gig here in town and played every week for 2 years and it was probably the best thing that ever happened to me. Sure you’ll be playing to nobody, but think of all the practices you will get in! Paid practice at that! Once you think you have all that down go into the studio and record some originals! But make sure you listen to what the studio has done first, and make sure it measures up to what you want the final result to sound like. There’s nothing worse than putting out a ton of money and hating the result. So do your research! Also social media is your best friend! Make sure to connect with your fans! Keep them updated on things you are doing, and keep your name in their minds. Also find a look. Something that will make you stand out from the rest. Doesn’t have to be drastic, but show off your style! Style/look, talent, and personality are 3 very important things that are going to help you along the way! Make sure to show them all off to the best of your ability! And stay true to yourself! Never be phoney. People see through that! Just find something unique about yourself and thrive on it! 🙂 (I could go on and on for days answering this question but I’ll stop here!)
