Darius Rucker who is well known as the frontman for Hootie and the Blowfish and in recent years as a chart toping Country artist. And now, he was honored with his very own street on Monday August 12, in Charleston, South Carolina. Rucker grew up in the area and in 90’s Hootie and the Blowfish played the local Charleston Coliseum shortly after the venue opened. Fittingly, the street leading up to the Coliseum is now Darius Rucker Boulevard. Rucker says he may return to Charleston this fall to play a country set.
